Meet Our Founder
Thomas Auer is the founder and driving force behind the research institute, shaping it with a clear vision for uniting advanced digital technologies, material innovation, and traditional craftsmanship. Building on the multi-generation heritage of Holzmanufaktur Auer, he combines deep hands-on expertise in high-end interior construction with international experience and strategic leadership. His goal is to establish a pioneering environment where research, industry, and education merge to create new standards for the future of woodworking, design, and fabrication
Wolfram Allinger is the president of Baumstark and a leading voice in advancing high-quality woodworking through innovation and collaboration. With extensive experience across the carpentry and design sectors, he champions cross-industry partnerships and the development of forward-looking technologies. His leadership strengthens Baumstark’s mission to elevate craftsmanship, support regional value creation, and connect traditional expertise with modern, research-driven approaches.

Antje Bierwisch is a professor at MCI specializing in future trends, strategic insight, and innovation foresight. As head of the UNESCO Chair for Future Studies, she leads research on emerging technologies, societal developments, and long-term strategic planning. Her expertise supports organizations in navigating change, identifying opportunities, and shaping resilient, forward-looking strategies.
